Innovation Sandbox is a half-day interactive program devoted to highlighting technological breakthroughs and solutions that are designed to help security practitioners tackle emerging security issues facing the industry.

Altor’s product, Altor VF v3.0, won the award based on its broad market applicability and the fact that it addresses major trends in virtualization security, a top of mind issue for CISOs today.

Close to 30 companies provided submissions for consideration in the contest, with the final 10 being selected after review by the judging panel.

This year, Altor Networks competed against nine other finalists that were invited to pitch their product and business plan to a judging panel made up of venture capitalists, chief security officers, chief technology officers and industry experts.

Judges included Michael Barrett of PayPal; Asheem Chandna of Greylock Partners; Gerhard Eschelbeck of Webroot Software; Renee Guttmann of Time Warner Inc.; Ray Rothrock of Venrock and Hugh Thompson, Program Committee Chair for RSA Conference.
